So, I went on with my bold and impromptu decision to fly out of the country to Phuket, right after my last paper. Alone. And I was glad I did. Overall, it was an awesome trip (apart from the black out on the first night).
The most amazing part would be the ride on the speedboat. I must admit, I have never enjoyed being on waters like that before. I wished I was a talented writer so I could put that whole memory into a paragraph of words, letting anyone who reads it feel like he/she was literally there. Sadly, I’m not. But I’ll try.
Water, is such a very interesting thing. It can be so powerful, scary, yet essential to every single living thing. Water has the ability to take away thousands of lives, destroying cities and buildings, yet all living things have to rely on water to survive. It is so flexible, it can take on any form or shapes, it even has the ability to bring peace and tranquility to a person’s soul.
Towards the last part of the Phi Phi island tour, I decided to take the “VIP seat” since I returned to the boat early. It was on the “deck” of the boat, just by the edge. Once the journey back to Phuket began, the feeling was incredible. It was amazing sitting in the strong breeze, watching the waters and waves as the speedboat cruised down the seas at such high speed. It was as if all of a sudden, water has lost all of its scientific properties as a liquid. The whole sea transformed into a rocky terrain and the choppy waters served to give everyone the occasional extra adrenaline rush. I felt so free, so light and at peace. For a little while, you could throw all your troubles to the back of your mind and just let the waters take you. I think I have fallen in love with the sea.
My command of the English language isn’t strong, and the paragraph above doesn’t do justice to what I had really felt at that point of time. This will be one of the best memories in my life.
