The older we get, the more we experience in life. We grow to become wiser, more matured and less reckless. We think twice, thrice, so carefully through every major decision we make in life. And sometimes, growing up just ruins us. We lose that innocence, that simplicity that we were blessed with as kids.
The older we get, we start following our minds instead of our hearts. We try to force logic into every single thing in our lives, forgetting that perhaps some of the most beautiful things in life can’t be explained with logic. Some of the most beautiful things in life like, love.
We overthink on simple decisions, over-analyze simple situations, bringing out the worst in others and in ourselves. We choose to walk away from people who make us sad, convincing ourselves that we had never ever been more sensible and right to make that decision, totally neglecting the fact that these people who made us sad were exactly just what we needed to be happy again.
By being wiser, we have also become more cautious, more guarded, and more likely to miss wonderful opportunities to acquire happiness because we were too fearful.
Why didn’t you just take the chance? Why didn’t you just try? Why didn’t you just pop the question?
“Would you be mine?”
